Oedipus the King

Oedipus the King by Sophocles. I don't know what I read here. It was great story with many plot the tied itself back to begin of the story. I like how does not end because there is a part 2 in the story and it makes me want to read the story, even more after reading this. I still think Oedipus is not a king, and is only thing because he married the queen (his own mom). He wasn't a good king either and he choose to focus on himself to much. I would recommend the story based on it plot and moments that leave you wondering.

The Times They Are a Changing

The Times They Are a-Changing by Bob Dylan. I didn't think that this was a song. But when I went to class and heard the song it me feel nothing to be honest. I still don't get it, but many say it is a song meant to cheer someone ( I don't see it). I wouldn't recommend but it music and everyone has different types of music they like.

Cinderella

Cinderella by Anne Sexton. I don't what I read with this version of the story of Cinderella. I read many thing that this story change over the one everyone else knows about. (Disney one) For murder and chopping of body part were a new way to tell the story. I see why this story is very talk about and why some people may have some problems with this story. I mean I like the fact that it did keep the old ending and let Cinderella live happy ever after. I would recommend, just because I to know everyone else reaction to this story.

The Fish

The Fish by Elizabeth Bishop. All I thought about before reading this is a fish that can talk. But after reading the poem I still don't really get it. I think the fish is like us. I don't know how but the fish was like someone who just gave up because it didn't fight back even once in the story. But the fish could have fight back if it wanted to because it all ready had whole in the mouth and that only comes from escaping hook that it gets hook on. And maybe it just tired of fight. That what I think. I would recommend to a friend just because I want to see what they think of this poem and see there view on it.

To a Locomotive in Winter

To a Locomotive in winter by Walt Whitman. Before reading I was thinking that this poem was about a train that was on its last ride or maybe about a someone trying to get home, or even a Christmas poem. But it turn out to about a poem that will show how the world will change. He want to show that the locomotive is just one small step in the future America can one say have. (if only he was a live today.)  The reason I would recommend this to a friend is because the story about the author (Walt). Walt loved to write about the advancement the world will have one day.

The Storm

The Storm by Kate Chopin was a story. When I first heard of it I was thinking about a storm the would destroy everything in its path but it turns out to be nothing like that. But was about a son and father that want to get home before a storm hits because they are worried about the mom (Cailata). But the mom turns to be fine as she cheats on her husband (Bobnet), and acts like nothing happen after the storm. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend just because of plot. The story was using a storm like a metaphor, almost as the after the storm hit everyone has a clean slat.

A Rose for Emily

A rose for Emily is by William Faulkner. Before reading this story I thought it was about a love story or a love triangle that include a person named Emily. ( I was wrong.) Instead it a tale that will leave you wondering till you read the last page of the story. It start with Emily falling in love and then one day her lover is gone. What I like about the story was the build up for the end. I would recommend to a friend just because of the build up for the end. You know she buy the poison, then her lover is gone, but the body is no where and many think he skip town.
